DMC talks to Paul Sammes of Arthousemedia

After my time at Digi I took on a position as a lecturer at AIM, in that 5 year period I had become quite heavily involved in the Australian film industry, producing sound design, film scores, all that lead me to AIM. My specialist subject is mastering. Mixing i find, I can do it, but you have to have a whole lot of involvement physically and psychologically in the process. What i used to hate about mixing records is that it is subjective, if you mix a record; everyone has a theory about how it should sound. Used to annoy me, not that I can’t take criticism, but you really have to be involved in the process, have to be committed and enjoy it.
